 So whats this 'WiFi' all about then?
WiFi is commonly known as the term used to describe Wireless Technology,
refering to protocols and industry standards. Products which conform to these
standards feature the 'WiFi Certified' logo (right).
There are currently four alternate types of WiFi technology (see below), however the original standard '802.11a' is no longer manfucaturered, and has been superceded by more advanced standards.
The main difference between each standard is the speed at which the standard allows a wireless device to send and receive data. This becomes important when you want to transfer data wirelessly.
Tasks such as wirelessly browsing the internet, streaming music and video, etc can become faster the more advanced a wireless standard your device complies to.
